About this School Project (Dot Trees: Grade 1)
In honor of international Dot Day and Wassily Kandinsky’s Art, students created concentric circles using watercolor and oil pastels. While making the circles students used warm colors. The circles would later become blossoms on their trees. Then students used oil pastels (cool colors) to create the sky and grass for their background before adding watercolor to their papers. When the circles and backgrounds were dry students then used torn paper to create an abstract tree trunk and branches using black paper before cutting and gluing on their circle flowers.
