About this School Project (4-A Egyptian Sarcophagus Project)
Ancient Egyptians buried their dead in elaborately decorated coffins called a sarcophagus. The sarcophagus was covered with detailed symbols, drawings & stories. The symbols were thought to give the dead spiritual protection. in this lesson, lesson students drew a sarcophagus and filled it will shapes, patterns, Egyptian symbols and colors. Next, they colored with metallic crayons and finally they applied a gold wash to the artwork.
