About this School Project (Grade Kindergarten- Using Cool Colors to Explore Brush Strokes/ Snow Flakes)
Students in the first part of this lesson, experimented with a paint brush and cake tempera paint. They practiced cleaning the paint brush to change colors. They also practiced using the brush in different ways to create many different kinds of lines. During this part of the lesson, they created a non objective artwork that shows expressive lines.
In the second part of the lesson, the students learned that artists often use color to express ideas. They leaned that artists often use blue, green and violet colors to express ideas about things that are cold or cool. They then used their newly practiced painting skills to paint a picture that shows something cold or cool.
