About this School Project (Grade 5 Mood Portraits)
We studied the color wheel by mixing our colors from primary and secondary paints to make tertiary colors. We then painted the colors on a "pie-slice" color wheel. Then Mrs. S. gave us each a copy of a little T-Shirt. We had to glue it to paper and draw ourselves wearing the shirt, in the correct body proportion. Mrs. S used a circle scissors to cut a hole in the front of the T-Shirt. The color wheel was lined up against a piece of construction paper and mounted with a brass brad. Then the construction paper was glued to the back of the portrait on three sides only, leaving the wheel to spin freely. We could change the color of the circle on our shirt. We drew facial expressions on each of the colors to show how we felt about that color.
