About this School Project (Vincent Van Gogh Sunflowers)
Students learned a little bit about artist Vincent Van Gogh by reading the story Van Gogh and the Sunflowers. We learned that Vincent only sold ONE painting while he was alive and didn't become famous until well after he died. We looked at many pictures of real sunflowers and discovered they can be many colors and sizes. For our project, we learned a pointillism technique by dipping Q-tips in paint to print the seeds of the sunflowers. We tried to make our dots as close together as possible. We chose a color or colors for our sunflower petals and used a paintbrush for this part. We chose to make our petals pointy or rounded. These came out SO BEAUTIFUL! Please compliment your favorite artist!
