About this School Project (Carp Kites)
Kindergarten learned about the Japanese celebration of Children's Day, we read a book that explained that both boys and girls are now celebrated, but tradition only allows boys to fly their carp kites. We wanted to celebrate all of us equally so boys and girls both made carp kites, first drawing with warm or cool colored sharpies, then drawing with the opposite magic markers, the magic happened when we added water and the color bled and ran together creating perfect carps. Proud of these beautiful fish!
