About this School Project (Kindergarten - Sea Turtles)
Kindergarteners combined a variety of tools and techniques to create these sea turtles. First, students learned to weave paper strips together to make a checker board pattern, and they were cut out in a circular or oval shape for the shell. Next, students painted wavy lines on a background page for texture, and used a bottle to print large bubbles around the ocean. While those were drying, students used their drawing, cutting, and gluing skills to add the head, fins, and tail to their turtle. The turtles were then glued to the ocean background they had previously created. To create the picture frame, students painted bubble wrap with white paint and printed the bubbles around the outside edge of a larger piece of blue paper. Finally, students glued their ocean and turtle art to the center of their border paper.
