About this School Project (2nd Grade Blue Willow Pattern Plates)
2nd grader created blue willow pattern plates, using tints and shades of blue. The Willow Pattern illustrates the romantic fable between a wealthy Mandarin's daughter, and his assistant. Students read the poem of the blue willow pattern, watched an animated version of the story, and identified elements of the story within blue willow pattern plates.
Then, students chose elements of the story to include in their own rendition of a blue willow pattern plate.
Students included the following in their work:
-Elements or parts from the story or poem
-Tints and shades of blue
-A pattern around the outside edge of the plate
