About this School Project (Cubist Tree)
Students learned about the life and work of Pablo Picasso (Spanish 1881-1973), focusing on his Cubist Period. Picasso worked with Georges Braque in the early 1900’s to invent this new style of painting in which objects are analyzed, broken up, and rearranged. They wanted to challenge conventional forms of art and get people to see art in a new way. We looked at several examples of Cubism and used what we saw as inspiration for these colorful tree drawings.
