About this School Project (3-B Conga Drums)
This lesson constructing a Cuban Conga Drum is based on the book, Drum Dream Girl, written by Margarita Engle and illustrated by Rafael Lopez. The book tells the true story of female Cuban drummer, Millo Casto Zaldarriaga, and how she inspires readers to follow their dreams! For this artwork, 3rd graders did a bit of painting, cutting, collaging, designing, and sewing.
