About this School Project (Model Magic Coil Vessels)
4th grade artists' focused on being able to roll coils (long snake-like forms) to create a vessel. We used Model Magic, as this material is easier than clay to learn to successfully roll coils. They were able to choose thick or thin coils for their pieces. The vessels were finished with watercolor. We also learned how to take good photos of 3D art, as this is different from taking photos of their 2D flat art.
