Artist Statement (what Ayda26 said about their artwork)
My artwork looks like a green frog with a red mushroom with white spots on its head. The frog also has his tongue out and he has piercings on his tongue and face. He also has black painted toenails. I broke from tradition. I made this by finding a picture I liked online and then I copied down what I saw onto paper with a pencil. Then I traced over the pencil with a sharpie and colored in the frog with markers. This artwork helped me grow as an artist because I have never used alcohol markers before so I got to start a new skill.
About this School Project (Tradition Unit Final Project (2021-22))
Using what you've learned about traditions and what makes something traditional, design and create an artwork based on your response to the question: "As an Artist, would you follow tradition or break away from it?"
Choose the medium that best represents your idea to the viewer. What details will you include to provide clues to the viewer about your beliefs on tradition? Plan your work in your sketchbook and explain the hidden meanings in the different parts of your composition. Show your plan to a partner to receive feedback. Can your partner make sense of your tradition? Can he or she offer any suggestions for additions or improvement? Explain the criteria you used to develop and guide your art making.
