About this School Project (3-D CROSS Drawings for Lent by the 4th Grade)
This Project is reminiscent of the art of Salvador Dali with his depiction of Jesus on the Cross with Mother Mary forever vigilant.
Our 4th Graders have been learning to draw 3-Dimensional Block-Crosses, using the 3 SHADED PENCIL TONES of Light, Medium, and Dark, varying them according to the pressure they applied for each. They first drew the Cross and worked out these TONES to make their Crosses appear to "POP-OUT." After they cut their Cross out neatly on the edge, they made BEAUTIFUL BACKGROUND SCENES using various drawing materials. After that, we finished affixing our 3-D Crosses to the Background scene.
