About this School Project ((Orange) Planets in Outer Space)
Students created a space background by using the resist technique. Using white oil pastels, they drew stars and movement lines. They chose outer space color to watercolor over the oil pastels for the magic resist to happen. Students referenced the planets, then practiced blending techniques with their oil pastels to create planets. After cutting out the planets, they played with the composition of how the planets can overlap and move off of the edge of the page. They finished their space artwork by gluing them down.
