About this School Project (5 Jen Aranyi Inspired Landscapes)
INTRO:
Students were introduced to the Maryland Graphic Designer and Illustrator Jen Aranyi. They noted her use of high contrast color and black and white landscapes inspired by the area in which she lives as well as the unique shapes of her artwork.
PROJECT:
Students began by drawing a mountainous landscape on a circular piece of watercolor paper. They add graphic lines in sharpie to shade the mountains and add texture. Next, they drew the foreground of their landscape choosing from a variety of different landscape details. Lastly, students painted in their skies with watercolors and then added celestial bodies using a tiny brush and white tempera paint.
