About this School Project (1st: Landscape, Cityscape, Seascape)
This project began a little differently than others as students learned the differences between seascapes, landscapes, and cityscapes. Our first grade artists began by looking at photographs and artworks of each scape and describing them as they listened to sounds from each environment. After they seemed to have a good grasp on each scape, they broke into three groups; one for seascapes, one for cityscapes, and another for landscapes. The artists were then given the task to act out each scape however they thought was best. The artists had a ton of fun learning about each of these scapes!
The final task was to create a drawing of each scape, which is what you see here. They completed their drawings by creating a wax resist with crayon and watercolor. Each artist compiled their three works by gluing them to black paper to create a nice border and background-- all done on their own! Enjoy!
