About this School Project (Owh! Stuart Davis Primary Layers)
Students looked at the artworks of Stuart Davis and we discussed these and how he overlapped his shapes to give the illusion of depth. They noted that the artist also used bright colors, especially the primary colors and had words in his art. They then based their art project on his "Owh! in San Pao using 5 pre-cut pieces of red, blue and black paper to create their overlapped layers for depth glued onto yellow paper. Black markers were used to write their names and various words that they learned with the lesson.
