About this School Project (1-Tartan Turtles)
First graders are learning how to combine various lines to create patterns. We discussed and looked at lots of examples of plaid patterns before each child created their own using paint sticks. It was so fun to watch as overlapping colors resulted in new, sometimes unexpected, colors. Next, kids followed directed drawing directions to draw different sized turtles. These were colored and cut out before being glued to the tartan plaid background. Overall, this was a fun way to practice drawing, cutting, and gluing.
