About this School Project (Frottage Mandalas)
Students learn about Tibetan Buddhist sand painters, and create their own intricately patterned mandala. Students begin with a frottage technique to establish radial balance. They use a color scheme and develop a vocabulary of repeated shapes to layer and repeat patterns.
