Artist Statement (what Kaylee16291 said about their artwork)
For this project I chose to draw butterflies because I thought it would be cute. The materials used for this piece were sharpie, Prismacolor pencils, and white gel pen on dictionary paper. The size of this piece is 7.5x9 inches. The process used to create this piece started with sketching some butterflies in my sketchbook and practicing applying color to them on dictionary paper. Next, the butterflies were sketched onto the dictionary page that was chosen because it had the word butterfly on it. Finally, the color was applied.
About this School Project (Repurposed Book)
Pages from discarded or damaged books will be used to transform a page into a work of Art.
Realistic zoo animal images that were 1st done as thumbnails in the sketchbook were drawn. Composition, different angles (upclose or crop a section) that may grab attention were suggested. A practice sheet to test concepts, color, choice, materials, composition, etc.was used prior to a good study. For the final study, have a page from the discarded dictionary that relates to animal, such as chosen animal goldfish-dictionary page Koi, fish, goldfish, etc.
