About this School Project (3- Oversize Crayon)
Third grade art students learned about Pop Art, focusing on the work of Claes Oldenburg. His early work included soft sculptures of food items and he later became famous for taking everyday objects and enlarging them to create huge sculptures. We looked closely at crayola crayons and sketched them on large black paper. Color sticks or crayons were used to add color, leaving the black paper visible wherever applicable. The last step was to use white to add a highlight for dimension.
