About this School Project (Lines in the Background)
All students in Kindergarten through Grade 5 learned about Line as an element of art. Classes learned about the importance of Line being the first element of art to learn about as well as naming the different types of lines and their directions, such as vertical, horizontal, and diagonal. Students practiced drawing these lines on a piece of 12 x 18 paper and used crayon along with watercolor paints for a crayon resist effect. An object of their choice was created to go on top of the lines for a cool "lines in the background" setting.
