About this School Project (Snowman Perspectives)
K-1 created snowmen that we are viewing face to face. They used oil pastel to create shadows, paper to add details like hats, arms, scarves and noses. Next, they cut paper snowflakes, along with white pencils to create falling snow.
2nd grade made snowmen that are looking up at the falling snow. They used paper to cut & layout their shapes to make their snowmen, scarves, noses and other details. Lastly they created paper snowflakes and colored pencils to create the falling snowflakes.
3rd grade created snowmen that we are looking down at, viewing from above. They cut 3 different paper sizes, stacked them on top of each other and used spacers in between the layers to make them more 3D. They used oil pastels to create shadows and cut paper and markers to add in details. Next, they used white crayons to create snowflakes in their backgrounds and applied watercolors to utilize the resist method. Lastly, they created paper snowflakes to add the final touches.
4/5/6th grades created snowmen that we are looking up at. We created space by positioning the shapes in a pattern while also decreasing their sizes. They used chalk pastels to create shadows and highlights and then finished the details with colored pencils. Lastly, they created falling snowflakes using white chalk pencils and cut paper snowflakes.
