About this School Project (Figure Drawing Warmups)
In this project students learned about human anatomy and how joints play an important role in drawing a realistic person who has arms and legs bending at specific locations. There are 14 major joints in the human body: ankles, knees, hips, waist, neck, shoulders, elbows, and wrists; and these are the only places a body can bend, move or change direction other than small joints within fingers and toes. Understanding proportions is also important when figure drawing. For example, an arm hanging down will hang past the hips, the hips are in the middle of the body, a legs mid point is the knee and an arms mid point is the elbow
