About this School Project (Monet Garden Paintings)
After studying the art of Claude Monet, a French Impressionist Artist, we viewed the film, "Linnea in Monet's Garden", and also viewed some real photos of Water Lilies. Monet loved to paint Water Lilies and other BEAUTIFUL FLOWERS from his Garden. We learned that his Garden is a REAL PLACE that you could visit in France if you ever travel that far. We tried to imitate the beautiful garden in our Artwork. First we drew the SCENE using our crayons. Next we used OIL PASTELS to brighten up the flowers, blend colors, and draw attention to certain areas of our drawing. Finally, we used Water paints to especially make the water look like REAL WATER. Look for special things in our pictures from the movie, like the Japanese Bridge, the Bench, the Boat, many different kinds of Flowers, far away and up close, Frogs, and of course, the Water Lilies, which Monet is very famous for.
