About this School Project (0-5 Monochromatic Me)
During this lesson, all students in grades K-5 created a monochromatic self-portrait or a portrait created using many different shades and tints of one color. They first viewed the artwork of the famous self-portrait Mexican artist; Frida Kahlo. They learned about her work and the struggles she faced throughout her life. Finally, they were led through a demonstration on how to create a portrait which they then colored in with a monochromatic color scheme.
