5th Grade- Starry Night with Vincent van Gogh
Students have gained the ability to create movement within their pictures, demonstrating an understanding of Vincent van Gogh’s style. Students created a unique interpretation of Vincent van Gogh’s Starry Night by either using van Gogh’s composition and then applying a unique painting style to complete the painting, or creating a unique composition and then applying van Gogh’s painting style to that composition.
5th Grade- Dream Houses -
Students create two-dimensional dream houses through the process of sketching from their imagination, outlining with permanent markers, cutting large areas with scissors, and utilizing their maturing fine motor skills after learning the proper techniques for paper cutting with X-Acto knives. Students showcase their work by mounting their dream homes on contrasting black paper.
