Hi Stella, I just love the color you chose to create your sweet-faced pup, and how you popped each color wiht the one around it. I also really like the dot technique. There is a famous painting that is one of my favorites that is in the art museum. It is created entirely of dots. It is titled Sunday Afternoon on La Grande Jatte, painted in the late 1800's. It is painted entirely of dots...called pointillism. Unless you are up close, you can't really tell. These dots also remind me of fabric that I am using to create a quilt. The designs are also made of points, and designed by Aborigini's from Austrailia. I am so glad you are learning some different painting techniques. LU2H&B Nana

Hi Stella, This is very pretty...I hope you frame it and put it in your room. It would match your decor perfectly. If you don't want it, I'll frame it and put it in the "kids room" where hearts are a major theme. It would look really pretty in there too. I'll share why when I see you. LU2H&B!!! Nana

Hi Stella, I really like this colorful pumpkin. It looks like you have used a watercolor technique to blend and enhance different aspects of your pumpkin and the background. It also appears that you have used the color wheel to understand what colors to use to "pop" another color. Also, the hues are complimentary and give the boldness depth. Can you tell...I love art. Your mama is a terrific artist and even majored in it in college. She has created some amazing things. Maybe you can work together on a project. Love and miss you bunches!! LU2H&B Nana

Hi Stella, When ever you get to study and try an element of art, it is wonderful. It can lead you into other elements, and to trying new and different artistic views. Working with lines and color, you can apply that to most other art projects you would like to do. Keep learning. (Wouldn't this be fun to try multi-media. Hmmmm....the color variations could come from colored tissue paper, the lines could be black string, or black cording. The ideas are endless!!) I love seeing your work and you maturing as an artist. Your mama is very talented and so are you!! LY2H&B Nana

I love this one Stella! Looking at it makes me think of fall and Halloween. I like how the colors pop against the black background! Love you!

Very interesting Stella. It's a different variation of what you did in Kindergarten last year. I like where you chose to put your color blocks.

Hello Stella, I enjoyed seeing your turkey in a rainbow of fall colors. I know you love art and making things, When I see you next, let's make some 3D art...we can use paint, craft sticks, feathers, pompoms, pipe cleaners, felt, baggies, hangers, googly eyes, etc. etc. I have all those things in the basement! When I was a classroom teacher, we were always experimenting with making and creating art. I even can show you how to make a robot that creates art with things you have around the house and a battery. We could do a fun Christmas or winter project and surprise Mommy and Daddy. Sound like fun? It does to me!! I had so much fun with you in New Orleans...I can't wait until we all go back there again together to see our family! LYtoHandB! Nana

Hey Stella, I love all the colors your tree has. Isn't fall just beautiful!! I have enjoyed my drives to see you with all the trees changing. I wonder if you could collect some leaves and do something really fun with them...maybe something like colored rubbings with crayons and then make a collage. If you don't know what a rubbing is, ask your mama, she is very good at that. We used to take beautiful leaves and iron them between pieces of wax paper and make a book. Then we would write short poems about them. It was sooooo much fun. LYTHeavenAB!!! Nana
