Hi Elena! These pumpkins are really cool! The orange one looks a little like a flower too, how did you do that?? Love, Aunt Renée

Hey Elena! This is fun piece of art. Did you use pastel or paint? Isn't it fun to use paper that already has color to it? I like using paper that is light blue or green sometimes. Love, Aunt Renée -- Renée

Hi Elena! This painting is so colorful, and feels just like fall because the colors are so rich and deep! Those pumpkins look like maybe I could carve one into a jack-o-lantern! Love, Aunt Renee -- Renee

Hi Elena! Wow! That fish looks really cool swimming in that fun water. Does he have fish friends nearby, or is on an adventure by himself? I think it would be fun to swim with him and see where he was going. :) -Renée -- Renée

Hi Elena! I love this butterfly. Did you make it out of your imagination, or does it look like a butterfly you have seen before? I like the background too. Maybe you can teach me how to do that one day? Love, Aunt Renée -- Renée

Dear Elena, This is a very nice butterfly. Do you suppose it could be a Monarch butterfly. There is a beautiful true story about how God has given all the Monarch butterflies the knowledge of how to go to the same place in Mexico to spend the winter. If you have not heard that story, I will bring my computer and tell you all about it on our cruise to Alaska. Love, Grandpa -- Grandpa And Grandma D

Elena we love your butterfly! The blue background makes it look like the butterfly is flying up into a clear blue sky. It's awesome that we can see it hanging on your bedroom wall every day now! -- Mom and Dad

Hi Elena!! I love this piece of art. It looks like she is running around trying to catch falling snow in her mouth! I remember doing that when I was a little girl. :) Love, Aunt Renee -- Renée

Hey Elena! This is super cool! Did you dye the paper yourself? I really like the pattern that you cut out. I think it looks like a lady in a fancy dress with her arms up in the air! :) Love, Aunt Renée -- Renée

Dear Elena, Those are some cool sunglasses you have! And purple lipstick...that matches the purple hair in one of your other pieces of art. :) I wonder what all the people in the back are...I think the ones on the right are ballerinas, but I'm wondering what the ones on the left are. Love, Aunt Renée -- Renée

Dear Elena, Where is this drawing? I wonder if it is in Mali, because I see the tree and the sun and the two story house. I bet if I walked around the corner I would see the trampoline! :) Love, Aunt Renée -- Renée

Dear Elena, This one looks kinda spooky! Those teeth look dangerous! I think I would be extra nice to this person. The purple hair is cool! Maybe I should have purple hair? :) Love, Aunt Renée -- Renée

Dear Elena, WOW! This is kind of a crazy face. I wonder what it would be like to have olives for eyes and a watermelon slice for my mouth. That makes me laugh to think about! Love, Aunt Renée -- Renée

Dear Elena, Isn't coloring on black paper super fun? I like how you layered the buildings - it looks like they are on a hill! I also really like that you put the moon in. It helps me understand that your drawing is at night. Love, Aunt Renée -- Renée

Dear Elena, I love the colors you used! I like how the red/pink/yellow butterfly contrasts with the blue background. You must have thought very carefully about what colors to pick. Love, Aunt Renée -- Renée
