This Blue Gnome is soo you. I can't wait to see it when you bring it home. I am also impressed that you are working with pottery. Hope you are enjoying Art, like Sydney did.

Perfect baby dinosaur. This reminds me of what Sydney does before she does her needlepoint, with crochet thread. I like the way it turned out after following the block/squares.

I love this one. Makes me want to pick up a paint brush and start painting. But, as you know, Aspen, Gramma is not very good at drawing, or painting.

I have to say, my favorite part of this picture is the fire wall sconces. That, and the level of grass for the deer to live on. I wonder if it was easier or harder to draw with gridlines? - Mom

This is a really interesting piece. I can tell you focused on the details of the brushes and practiced shadowing. I love how they are 'layed out' on the paper in an almost geometric pattern and the colored paint splatters ties the whole piece together and adds another element of depth. One of my favorite pieces so far!

I adore this bat, Aspen! I especially like how he is in flight, and seems ready to snatch some type of food (hopefully bugs). Great job!

Of course, I love your subject material, Aspen. The coloring of the fruit makes it really 'pop' and the bat's character really stands out with the way he is eating his food. :) Mom

Oh man, Aspen, when I saw your picture's title and then it came on the screen I literally laughed out loud. I LOVE Purple Guy. Not sure what inspired you, but this is very whimsical and, of course, made out of my favorite color. :)

Aww, Aspen, what an adorable flower. I like the square line, not your usually curvy flower. Very Minecraftish. The black eyes and smile kind of gives it a sinister feel, and yet the color is so bright and cheerful. Mom

A very adorable picture, Aspen. I really like how you used pen for the dog's fur, it gives it a very realistic quality. The bits of orange and yellow on the penguin as well as the blue dog's collar really pop on the black, white, gray picture.

You're pumpkin is adorably scary, Aspen. The eyebrows give it a meanness, yet the arms accentuate the roundness of the pumpkin which makes it seem sort of cuddly. I also like your use of gold/yellow to accent the eyes and teeth.

Lovin all your facial features, but these lips are especially good. The shading makes them look so real. Mom

Dots, dots, and more dots... As I stare at it I see a yellow flower, a blade of green grass and some sort of large figure that might be a person or animal. Quite an imagination, kiddo.

Took me a minute, but I see the dog! This is a very creative medium - was it sand like the title implies? It looks like it was fun to create. Reminds me of the sand artist we watched on America's Got Talent. This is definitely one of my favorites.
