Wow--I forgot to write to you when this sculpture came out on the internets. I like this one a lot, because it looks kind of like a bunch of buildings to me, and I love building designs. Maybe it looks like something totally different in your mind, but in mine, it's buildings. Art can one thing to one person and something else to another. No one has to think the same thing when it comes to art. Love, Oma. -- Margaret

Hi Gus! I like the fact that you're using what we adults call "mixed media." That means that you use different materials to make your art. There are so many materials and colors and textures and patterns floating around in your head, and it has to be fun to mix them all together and create wonderful works of art like this one. Good job! Love you...Oma. -- Margaret

Hi Gus. Hey--I really like your apple painting! It looks like you have a nice variety of apples. I especially like your colors (yellow being my all-time favorite.) Also--nice job on cutting your fringes. That isn't easy. Guess what! It's SNOWING up here at the lake. And when we get enough snow, we'll be able to go snowmobiling! We'll work on getting a lot more before you come up after Christmas. Love you bunches and bunches and bunches...Oma. -- Margaret (Oma)

Okay, Gus--I'm detecting a bit of a Picasso element going on here. Why don't you look up some of his paintings so you can see what I mean. He would paint people with body parts not where they're supposed to be. Your painting looks like it wants to eat itself. And you know what? I remember way, way back when I was a little girl that I LOVED to fingerpaint. It was so much fun to use my fingers to create all sorts of dots and swirls and smiley faces. I kind of miss kindergarten sometimes...especially the butter cookies and milk. Love--Oma. -- Oma (Margaret, the grandmother)

I love your tree, Gus. It looks like the leaves are beginning to turn because it's fall. It also looks like it won't blow over in a gazillion years, because it's so stout. Kind of like me. I hope you have fun with your art projects, because working with color is the best! Love you bunches and bunches and bunches. -- Oma
