Maya, This is an absolutely lovely example of the Tlingit People honoring their sea animals. The designs and faces on this animal tell a story and I would like you to tell it to me! The colors are very natural and organic as if they all come from the land. I am very proud of your work! Grandma Sharon

This picture definitely represents Easter and Springtime! Such bright background colors really seem to make the rabbit appear to be hopping as if his head just popped up from a jump. You have created so many animal personalities this year but I am very glad they are not really alive because where would they all live in your house???? Love, Grandma S. -- Sharon

Your Teddy bear has such a beautiful face. I like the way it's eyes are looking to the side as if it wants to go somewhere else. The patches and rough spots on her fur make me want to pick her up and cuddle with her!!! Of course, she might be a he, and I love him just as well. -- Grandma Sharon

Hello Maya, This is the first self-portrait from Kindergarten that I have seen. It shows a very happy little girl with lots of love to share.(because of the hearts) You like wearing very colorful outfit and your hands look ready to do something fun. When I saw your 2nd self portrait, I couldn't believe my eyes!! You really listened to your teacher and followed her advice and added even more great details. I love them both very much. I am so excited to view your FIRST art work from Sand Creek!!! I love art and want to see how you put your "art feelings" on paper. You did an extremely awesome job of painting your heart! I love the line design and details inside your heart. Your colors are "warm" which helps describe the imaginative side of your personality. Continue painting and creating. I can't wait to see more!
