Another good job! Blended colors, a shadow to show which direction the light is coming from. You have learned so much about art this year!!! Love, Grandma -- Jocilyn

Hi Addy, As usual, beautiful drawing and coloring and use of shades of colors. These ladies look sad to me. Is there a story behind the artwork? Tell me about it on Saturday. Love, Grandma -- Jocelyn

What a beautiful "quilt" you've created! Grandma always loved Laura's books when I was your age, and your artwork brings back many wonderful memories of happy reading times. Thank you! Did you know that Grandma, Papa, Mommy and Uncle Greg lived in River Falls, Wisconsin many years ago. Not far from there in Pepin County is the Little House Wayside, which is located on the plot of land where Laura Ingalls Wilder was born on February 7, 1867 and has a replica of the log cabin described in the book, "Little House in the Big Woods"! Sadly, Grandma, Papa, Mommy & Uncle Greg never got a chance to visit it. Maybe we should all take a road trip and see it someday. -- Candy

Hi Addy, Grandpa and I loved your paddle doll art project! The colors are beautiful and happy; the coloring itself is carefully done - which we would expect from our careful, artistic granddaughter! My favorite part is the hair, though. It really looks Egyptian! Great job!! -- Jocelyn

Addison, I love the blue! Very nice colors; so lovely! Did you know archaeologists find many of these dolls in ancient dig sites? They are thousands of years old and give today's society a window into the ancient past. Imagine working away in the hot sun and finding one of these as you dig, helping others discover the secrets of human civilization and our human family. Very exciting stuff! Lots of beautiful secrets to find buried in the sands of time! Ask your mom to tell you about King Tutankhamen; the ancient world is full of exciting stories! -- --Uncle Greg

Oh, Addy, your paddle doll is exquisite! Grandma can see that those artistic genes have been passed down from Great, great grandma and Great grams to you. Since your class is studying Egypt, we'll have to explore how to "Dance like an Egyptian" - a popular dance when Grandma was a young girl! Maybe Mommy knows it? Love you, sweet girl. -- Candy

Addy, I love the design you gave this Egyptian paddle doll on the bottom! -- Hilary
