Dearest Ben, So glad to have a chat about your painting. I really like the goat in the oasis. And I love the idea of pears on the palm tree!

Ben - thanks for the dialog on the artwork: sun, rocks, palm with pears, wade drinking water in oasis! Great! Pop

Ben - no comments yet! your art deserves better! I like it for its 3D construction and framing of the smaller scene. Reminds of Eastern Orthodox art or Slavic art - look that up! Love, Pop

I had fun looking at this painting, Ben. Turquoise blue is one of my favorite colors. And I like the rib-cage on the little creature in the middle!

Hi Ben - I like the way you create very detailed patterns of color, not just uniform blocks. It must take a long time to add all those colors! Love, Pop

Darling Ben, I LOVE this little guy! Especially his hat, a bit like a tam o' shanter; and his long thin legs -- I wish I had legs like those. Keep up the good drawings! Lots of love, Granny xxx

This is for Day of the Dead. Day of the Dead is when we remember our loved ones who have passed away. We have been learning about it in art class with Ms. Veccioni and watching the movie The Book of Life. This is hanging up in the school and which is full of Day of the Dead decorations for the rest of the week. Calavera is a happy skeleton. My skeleton's name is Minnow-no

Ben - You are challenging us. I got that Calavera is a skull and this was inspired by Halloween. Am I right? Keep up the great interpretative work!

Dear Ben, You are becoming quite a talented young man! I particularly like the contours of the table and the vase. The vase reminds me of a mitten and therefore of Michigan too.

This is Ben's response to Vincent Van Gogh's Sunflowers. This is made of pastels and watercolor. He is studying outsider art with the art teacher, Ms. . She is his favorite teacher. This is a class that is 1/2 of his kindergarten on Thursdays - the other half of his class goes to computers. He will do computers in the spring.
