Here are mountain ranges and sand dunes, cityscapes and caverns, mornings and sunsets, nights and noons, waves and gear-teeth! Praise be to the maker of such marvelous things!

Ian, this picture is great! Did you know that the man who first drew a picture just like this one, around 500 years ago, was one of the greatest artists and thinkers of all time? His name was Leonardo da Vinci, and the picture has come to be known as the Vitruvian Man. Why? Well, there was an architect who lived 2,000 years ago named Vitruvius. An architect is a person who decides what new buildings should look like and how they should be built. Vitruvius believed that grown-ups were usually eight heads tall and that his buildings should fit grown-ups of this height. The man in Leonardo's drawing is about eight heads tall. How many heads tall are you, you think? Does the Bowman building fit somebody your size?
