Ooo! Pastels are hard! I don't like to work with them because I find they're too easy to smush and mix together. I'm so proud of you for doing this. I couldn't have made it look that good!

This is GREAT!!! Get Mama to show you my FAVORITE bit of symmetry - the Taj Mahal! (It's a building and grounds that are perfectly symmetrical, yet very different from what we're used to and it was built to honor a woman that the king of that area loved dearly who died before her husband did. So the husband built the Taj Mahal as the perfect place for her grave. Everyone in the world knows and likes this building.)

This cat looks fierce and looks like he's jumping/pouncing on something (or someone-heh, heh, heh.) LOVE the mohawk hair and teddy bear ears to make him seem cute to lure in evil-doers everywhere. Then he pounces with his fiery tail and the claws come out! (Maybe he's the one who fights Edwynn when there's blue food to battle over???)

I like this guy! He looks like a reindeer who flies around a lot cleaning up other people's messes or maybe he leaves them candy, or something sweet and thoughtful like that.

This guy's kinda weird, kinda nice. I think I need to ask you about it before I really decide, but he's definitely interesting and getting people to THINK about your art is really important. LOTS of artist drew really weird pictures just to get people to think about what they were trying to show everyone with their art. This guy's kinda cool!

Your Mama showed me this picture and I didn't know it was yours. (I thought it was from someone else in your class.) She showed me the shading on it. But I'm really impressed that you had the lighter shading (same color as the moon) on the correct side and the darker shading on its correct side. That's something most grown-ups have trouble with. I think we've got a wonderfully talented artist in the family. Now you can show off your talent like me, Hannah, and Pa Bean. (He's a GREAT artist too!) Love you, baby!
