Love the different colours in your Leaf work Jake. From the story the teacher tells, it seems as though it took a few days, and learning lots of different skills to do this painting. I'm sure you had lots of fun doing this. Hope you didn't get "rained on" while you were finding your leaves. Great work, Jake -- Diane

I'm sure it was lots of fun doing this painting. I think I might even be able to do something like that. -- Diane

This looks like a piece of pottery. I guess it was lots of fun making that. And I can see that you've put different colours into it. Looks very good. -- Diane

Jake, I'm trying to understand this painting. Is it a photograph of you (screaming), then cut out and pasted onto the painting? Or is it just a photograph taken while you're standing in front of your painting. Hope there wasn't anything too scary near you. -- Grandma Diane

Jake, when I first saw this piece of art, it reminded me of lots of the paintings I see here, done by the aborigines. The I saw the note that it is based on Aboriginal Art. I had to check what "stippling" meant, and I've learned that it means "dabbing" or "dotting" , which is exactly the way the aborigines do these sorts of paintings. Very well done. -- Grandma Diane

Jake, you've done a very good job with this drawing. I knew what it was before reading the teacher's notes. And it was very interesting reading the story that the teacher told to you before you started your drawing. Great effort. -- Grandma Diane
