One of my favorite names! And I like the suggestion of the "t" as a Christian cross during sunrise. The picture makes me think of Easter.

Merry Christmas to you little cow too. You look lonesome and cold in that big snow field!

Nice, Katya. I like the way the different colored pretty leaves are tipped this way and that. It's as though the wind is blowing them. Your black lines going this way and that, some overlapping each other also suggest movement. Do you like walking in the leaves?

This is an arresting image with deft use of pastel colors. It gives me a sense of unease and instability, which is nevertheless pleasing.

Katya, your sunflowers are lovely. They fill the space perfectly. I like how one is nodding it's head. Well done using water paint!

Katya, you do such wonderful art work! How you put on the water color is very expressive, the out line around the fish, the different colors of the fish, and back ground water. Did you draw the fish and the water plants before you put on the color? I think I would like this picture on a coffee cup to remind me of the Koi fish in our pound. Nicely done!

Katya, you amaze me! What cute birds! First I love the colors. Next i really like their simplicity. Their personalities change with the direction their beaks are turned and their saucy little tails curl. Who would have thought to make their legs different heights? You! Nice artistic grass too with the different shades of green. What a fun picture.

How interesting! The stick figures are good. I especially like the one standing on his head. Making the arms and neck thicker make them important to look at. Which makes the viewer think about what it feels like to stand on ones head. Which makes one remember how hard it is to keep their head comfortable while the weight of their body is pushing down hard and their arms are trying to keep their body lined up straight while their legs kind of feel thin like noodles flaying back and forth trying to stay up in the air. All the "sparkly" lines around the stick figure say, "I feel this. I'm trying to stay balanced". The big headed guy on the right is wiggling "Hi" to me with his fingers while he dances on his toes. I love your art work!

Katya, is this a project showing the use of primary (red and blue) and secondary (orange) colors? I'm so impressed with what your learning in your art class at school. A comment was made that it is a self portrait. I'm wondering if you could have used yellow (another primary color) for the hair instead of dark brown since I think your hair is more blond than dark brown. Then your pretty painting would have been "more you". Filling the space nicely and having good proportions of the young girl are well done. I'm so glad I get to see your Art on Artsonia.

Katya, what an interesting picture. Could you use only the colors pink, red and purple? How did you make the colored squares of paper stay on the background? I like the different sizes of hearts. The way you've shaded in the little heart to the right is very nice. It's fun to do Art projects for Valentine's day!

Katya, another nice piece of Art work! I like the two winter trees framing the snowman. By standing tall next to the snowman but at the same time dividing the spaces on either side of him, they frame him to make him important. Of course coloring the trees brown also makes them set in the background leaving the white snowman to be the most important shape to look at. But because of the nice black on white shadows and how you divided the page in half with black and white, all makes for a very nice strong design. Learning about and using shadows helps make plain areas in a picture more interesting! Well done!

Katya, you are soooo GOOD! Your cute little bear looks like he might be doing something he shouldn't and is just peeking to see if anyone knows. The way you used the chalk is very good! By selecting a darker color for the nose and eye brow ridge gave his face depth. It put him in space. The dark in the ears with the bright white gave a focus point (you look there first). It makes it seem like he's really listening for you. And then there is the white sparkle in his eyes that gives him life. Well done!!!

Katya, I love your "peek-a-boo" Snowman! He is very stylish with matching hat and scarf! And what a cute little nose! I really like your snowflakes. They look just like that when they land on the front window of the car when I'm driving. One of these days it's going to snow, and you'll be able to put on your mittens and boots and go out and make a real snowman. Thank you for drawing such a fine picture.Love, Grandmother
