Cale - Your rooster is TOO AWESOME! The style reminds me of a project I used to do with my art students after studying paintings done by Indians in Mexico. They used bright-colored paints on bark paper called "amate" and called their pictures "amate paintings." Our projects looked similar to yours. To make our brown paper look like bark, we crinkled it, dipped it in black paint, and rinsed it off leaving black paint in the cracks.
