Claudia, I haven't visited Artsonia in awhile and I'm truly amazed at your recent work. The sneaker is truly a masterful sketch. But emotionally, I just love this one for its content - a woman and the moon, so evocative. Well done! -- Cindy
- on May 17, 2018
Hi Claudia - I'm so glad Artsonia is notifying us about your art work again. I love this picture - not only for its subject matter (yay, cats!), but also because I think you have really captured the spirit of the cave paintings. I love that you didn't just copy an existing picture but also tried to imagine what the cave people might have painted if cats had been domesticated then. Keep up the great work!!! See you soon! Love, Grandma & Grandpa -- Cindy

Dear Claudia, You drew a very nice caterpillar. She does look worried. I hope she finds her baby. After the storm the sun will shine and it will be easier for her to find her little caterpillar. It is probably keeping dry under a leaf nearby. See you soon! Love, Grandma Susie -- susan

Claudia - I love your description of your picture! It's sad when girls don't realize how beautiful they are. You're a wise girl to understand that. Love, Grandma -- Cindy

hi claudia, I still like this kitty picture a lot. What is the kitty's name?? Did you have a good Halloween? We had nice weather and about 300 kids in costume that we gave candy to. Hope you got lots of good stuff. Love, G'ma Susie -- susan

Hi, Claudia - This picture reminds me of the twin maple trees in our back yard in Empire, all dressed up in their fall colors. I'm looking out the window at them right now! Thanks for this nice picture. Love, Grandma (Tabasco & Marshmallow send their love, too!) -- Cindy
- on November 11, 2011
Hi Claudia, Your fall trees look good. It looks like one tree is eating the other! I guess your trees have lost a lot of their leaves in Chicago. Our trees here are just starting to turn fall colors. We will have a storm tomorrow and then a lot of leaves will come down. Love, G'ma susie -- susan

Hi, Claudia - I really liked your comment - that you didn't want to give this piece a name because you didn't finish it. It's important to know when something is finished - and believe or not, lots of people don't! And you're right - only when it's finished, and you're satisfied that it's exactly what you wanted to create, does it truly deserve a name. This is a good start and I hope you'll either finish it or try another piece because I think textile art (yarn is a textile, and so is cloth) is great. So often you can make something that is both useful and pretty using textiles. Over the ages this has been an important form of women's art - they had to make things that could be used but they also made them pretty. Love, Grandma -- Cindy

Claudia, I liked the kitty picture a lot. This red house picture is interesting, but a little too red for me. I think the kitty was nice because there were different colors and I like this idea of happy kitties. Love, G'ma -- susan

Claudia - I loved your happy snowman and I am glad he helps to keep his house clean. It would be fun to see him dance. You could dance with him, but wear your snowsuit. Snowmen need to stay cold or they are a puddle of water. Love, Grandma Susie -- susan

Dear Claudia - Fluffy snowman - I like it!!! Did you make a snowman this year? Can't wait to see you in Empire. Love, Grandma -- Cindy

Very pretty, Claudia, very nice! I like your exploration of the many things that can be done within and around a circle. I didn't know much about Sonia Delaunay so I learned something about her work, too. Keep up the good work! Love, Grandma -- Cindy

Ooooo, Claudia, I like this picture. It reminds me of the French artist Seurat, who also painted with dots. Your mom may have a book she can show you. Hope you're having fun on tour! We're looking forward to seeing you at Christmastime. Love, Grandma -- Cindy

- on May 4, 2010
Claudia, you're so good with colors! I always love the colors you choose in your paintings. And you have a great sense of design, too. I'll bet lots of kids filled the whole page with circles but you carefully left that blank triangle in the corner, which I think works really well. To me it looks like a shoreline, with white sand, then the well defined blue-green "water's edge," and then the more churned-up activity below the surface. Keep up the good work. Love, Grandma -- Cindy
- on April 30, 2010
I liked your cookie cutter artwork. I wish I could eat one of your cookies - yum, yum. Keep on painting. Love from Grandma Susie. -- susan

Hi, Claudia - I like the balance in this picture - the way the colors fill the white space without crowding it. The purple figure in the lower right looks like a butterfly to me! Which Eric Carle book were you thinking about when you did this painting? Love, Grandma -- Cindy
- on March 4, 2010
Hi, Claudia - When I looked at this picture before daylight I didn't even see Pinkalicious, and now I see her very clearly! Funny how things can look very different in different lights. That's one of the wonderful things about art. Very cute drawing! Love, Grandma -- Cindy
