This is the beginning of Joseph's Blue Period in which the color blue dominates his art. Much like Pablo Picasso, Joseph's "Blue Dog" painting is a marvelous expression of poetic subtlety and contributes to the transition of his style from classicism to abstract art. -- Lisa
