It's music to my eyes! I can nearly hear this painting, Kellen, in the way the colors and the lines swing around and vibrate. The shapes mingle and overlap like chords, high and low, soft and loud. I am crazy, crazy, crazy about it! -- GrandmaGenie

Kellen, you really captured the nature of bridges --- structure and metal and length. What really knocked me out was the way you showed me the bridge underwater. It's something I almost never thought about, and now I will. Using just a few colors gave the picture stability and made the bridge and the water even more rhythmic. Good job! I love it! -- GrandmaGenie

Kellen, I like the way the colors of the patterns pop and dance. That block of yellow makes the others sing while my color-mind is mentally filling in the black & white rectangles. Keep it coming! Love, GrandmaGenie -- Eugenie

11/24/10: Hey Kellen: Your latest is your Greatest!! Fantastic colors! Great shapes! How do you keep on doing it? One of these days you have to tell me how you decide which colors to use and which shapes to color. But in the meantime, this one is FUN to look at> Thanks for sharing it with me. And incidentally, Happy Thanksgiving!! tata -- Kenneth

This piece is so vivid and active! I can almost hear it, and I like the way the lines fit in and out of each other --- like an invitation to a puzzle. -- Eugenie

11/3/10: I am glad to see your self portrait, Kellen, and I would have known it was you even if you hadn't titled it as such. I knew I recognized that boy as soon as I saw it. But what a Great Head & Head of Hair which is a little different than your own mop, a little shorter, anyway. But I like the colors you used, the suggestion of ears, the Charlie Brown smile and the curiously different eyes. This one has a bit of Paul Klee in it as well. Anyone who sees this Self Portrait would want to get to know you and be your friend! I hope you are enjoying your productivity. I know I surely am. Sincerely, tata. -- Kenneth

It's you, that's for sure. All bright-eyed and full of mischief. Your self-portrait also does justice to your good hair! Is the rest of your body dancing to Justin Bieber? -- Eugenie

11/1/10:Kellen: Now this one is also terrific! The orange & many shades of green almost seem like a color map of a country that looks like a loosely formed USA, and your tumbling & jumping alphabet trying hard to tell us something makes you a member of the school of Stuart Davis and Jasper Johns. At the end of viewing all eight of your art works, I wanted to compliment you on your creativity and accomplishment! These peices are all quite excellent, and I am very happy to say Great Job! You have provided me with more than an hour of pleasure in looking at your personal statements of artistic creativity! love, tata. -- Kenneth

11/1/10: Kellen: Of course, you couldn't possibly have been thinking of Spider Man when you did this piece, but I did as soon as I saw this picture because of the spider-like net with strong, defined lines over a pulsing red background. There is nothing not to like about this piece! Now you are leaning toward the master Mark Rothko. Way to go! tata -- Kenneth

11/1/10: Oh boy! Oh boy! Oh boy! If "Cool Color Forest" was a masterpiece, this variation of it is off the charts becuase of your addition of a second color behind the swirl of magenta clouds. All I can say is "roll over Paul Klee, Charles Burchfield and all of the oldies" and make way for a new imagist, Kellen93! tata -- Kenneth

11/1/10: Now, Kellen, this is simply outstanding! You have gone from Picasso to Charles Burchfield in one leap. What a great forest! It is literally dancing off the page and out of the picture. And better yet is the almost luminious coloration of the sky. The wash of color is a terrific contrast to the well formed trees. By George, this is a small masterpiece. tata -- Kenneth

11/1/10: Hi Kellen: Of course I am a sucker for buildings and I especially like these being bookends for a fabulous, full glory rising sun. Your choice of colors is very satisfying. Who wouldn't want to climb inside this picture and visit for awhile. Keep up the Good Work! tata -- Kenneth

Hi Kellen: This may be my almost favorite painting! It is sensational! What an image! Pablo Picasso is spinning in his grave because he passed on before he could meet you & ask you how you do it! I like this guy, the way he looks, the colors, his blissful expression (which tells me he is very happy) and his dirigible-like flotation in space. This is not exactly cubism but I do see some color cubes there and, in addition to Picasso, I am sure Paul Klee, Dubuffet, Juan Gris & Georges Braque as well as tata, would pronounce this a first rate piece! In fact, yours truly, tata, says this is First Rate! -- Kenneth

11/1/10: Hi Kellen: Whether you know it or not, this is one great, satisfying composition with happy round forms and colors which are soothing & complimentary to the balance of your image. Keep up the Good Work! tata -- Kenneth

11/1/10: Hi Kellen: (1) Thank you for inviting me to joint your fan club! (2) Let me first say that all of your displayed work so far just 'knocks my socks off.' (3) I like this drawing especially because: of its action, i.e., the boys bouncing; I like jello, although to eat not to jump on and I like the fact that everyone has red hair like me! But I can't exactly tell what the boy on the chair is saying. However, he is very nicely drawn. I like his outfit. Keep up the action drawings! -- Kenneth ( 'tata' )
