The black background showcases the shading and color of the piece. I can see the entry point of the middle spiral taking me through to the rest of the piece.

The blue, dark, and white coloring helped perfectly display the depth and shape of each of the rolls which had its own degrees of value throughout that made it unique and distinct.

My favorite part of this artwork is the fact that I can tell that it’s there because the shadowing adds perspective, and I can tell that this work took lots of time and effort. In addition, this artwork is unique because it uses a different type of drawing style/value scale compared to many other artworks, which typically use cross hatching or shading.
