I did not understand the artwork until I researched Wassily Kandinsky. Bingo! Wassily was the Russian "Picasso" of his time, a pioneer of the "Abstract Modern" art and your painting would have be approved by him as a true example of his style. Well done!

Your portrait is an excellent example of the theme for the class. The first thought I had was "Spring!" when I saw it. Good contrast with the black background. (And is that a heart dotting your 'I' ?)

I have seen photos of baby polar bears riding on their mom's back like this. Love the Nothern Lights in the background. But you really would not want to be this close to them... Momma bear protects her babies!

This is really cool Claire! Reminds me of the pop art from the late 60's. The Beatles and other artists used a lot of this style in their album covers and movies, like 'Yellow Submarine' (Mom will show & explain...).

I see that the theme was 'Zentangle' and it is a way to create images by drawing structured patterns. It is unplanned so you focus on each stroke and not the result. All of the class art appears to have 'Bugs' as the theme. (Cool to see them...) What do you call your bug?

This one gives me the impression of a Valentine's heart with angel wings which does honor to the true story of Saint Valentine.
