That is the most fun piano I have ever seen. The sketchy drawing with the irregular staff lines- boom. Light, curvilinear, diagonal lines at the top and a heavy silhouette anchoring the bottom- I guess you know what you are doing :)

You are good at texture. Every time you mention texture I remember that dog you painted. Points for the serene purple. Points for strategically placed white highlights. Points for liking Vija Celmins. Lots of points!

This is great! Light lights and dark darks! I like the full gradients being contained by the hard lines. I also like how all the fracture lines are diagonal which contrasts the object's implied horizontal and vertical lines. To me, that contrast really emphasizes the static nature of the statue which makes the fracture seem all that more dramatic.

First off, nice composition design- the not-level horizon line is an effective touch with the haphazard shoes plop. I like your decisions on where to use stippling and hatching. I like the detail of the laces- they definitely show a contrasting texture to the rest of the boots. Cool shadows too! I still have the drawing of my boots that I did in 11th grade, so I hope this picture brings you joy for a long time.

I particularly like your yellow slashing through your grid. And I like how the grid inside the yellow does not perfectly line up with the grid outside the yellow- makes a weird optical effect. The other thing I really like about this piece is how it looks at full size versus how it looks in the thumbnail size or a smaller size. It really makes me perceive the swirly, textured part in the bottom, left corner differently in each. In terms of foreground/background, I read the yellow through the checkers differently in each too. Yay!

It looks like you understand the nuances of color! I am personally drawn to square 3. I have spent five minutes trying to decide what section you liked the best.

The expression on this owl... Great value work on the book. Your textures are becoming quite the thing!

I love this. Good line work, and I like the stippled cloud in the background- nice contrast.

Were you born to draw and paint dogs? The eyes are pretty fab. Not just the eyeballs, but all the fur around them too. You got the texture AND the 3D contours! Do another drawing and tell the dog to behave so we can see see what you can do with the whole nose- what you have with just a bit of the nose is fun! Also, if you choose, you and charcoal could have a bright future together.

I caught onto the rough edges and muted colors for the back, crisp shapes and bright colors for the front right away, so good job! The little drawings for the background are fun, plus they help add to the depth (cool story you found!). Sorry, but I am going to have to compliment the bottom row of macarons. The change in color and value helps with the depth of the whole thing, and it's just nice variety, in my opinion. Lastly, I like the dog. It is brown like the background, but is really the object that is most in the foreground. That's a cool little trick to confound the illusion of depth (something I find inherent in collage work) and not distract from the yumms.

This is a fun place! One detail that I really like is how you have the theater overlapping the mystery building on the right- makes a sort of upside down staircase out of the mystery building windows, a nice little visual element. I am also drawn to the big, dark line you have for the point of the sidewalk right at the front- a dramatic introduction to the happy shops and the CIA building. I get what you are saying about the bookshop, maybe it could use some more Abbey cuteness, buuuuuuuut it is in the back where details are less prevalent. Aaaaaand it has my favorite part, which is how the left side of the sidewalk vanishes into shadow and mystery, and the right side vanishes, past the Abbey Corp. secret labs, into the happy forest. A lot of subtle intrigue and mystery, almost like you made it thinking about the books you like...

This is Ama and Agong. I am not very good on creating art work. But I like all of your arts. You are very creative and I like the colorful piece the most. It is so bright that made me happy !

The colors really do reflect all of the shades of a pear! I love how you used different shades of green to not just denote texture but also contours of the fruit. Well done!!!

"Rocking in the Waves" reminds me of the Hokusai painting. This piece is really well done, Abigail. The whole composition gives one a sense of dynamism...that the oversized salt shaker is being moved by the waves! The texture of the "cloud"...is that sea foam being blown up...or some salt being lost because of the giant waves! Great work!!!

Really love this piece - captures the essence of this little dog that brings such joy to many in his family! I love especially the expressive eyes!!!

The shading really makes the boots pop out at you...creating a fantastic 3D effect. Great work!

The shading on this piece really draws in the viewer. Every time I look at this, I see something a little different. Quite remarkable work, Abigail!

This is great work! I like how worn they look. I also like the shadows underneath the tips of the shoes, because worn shoes are like that! I like the different types of shading, esp on the shoelaces too! And I like the background which is a stark difference to the shoes and makes me think you love your shoes.
