Ok one more comment. I just saw that you can purchase a necklace.....I will have to make sure Papa is aware LOL.

Benjamin, I love this piece. Colors are great and I bet it would look beautiful as a pendant in a necklace! Remind me next time you visit to show you a couple of pieces I have from Nonna and Auntie Nancy of blown glass. Love you Buddy!

This still life is well done. I see you paying attention to details. Keep working hard and getting better. My critique is that I think your lights and shadows could be more distinct. Light and shadow on 3D objects gives them "form". This is what makes things "jump off the page". Great work though!

This is awesome!

I like the new piece... seeing your personality in the work is GREAT! Keep it up Ben.

I like the dragon... getting better with practice I see. As you move forward try your best to pay close attention to textures. This does a GOOD job of capturing the dragon's texture but I now you can make GREAT textures by slowing down a bit and focusing on any references you maybe using. Also... try to push your Values (lights and darks) as dark as possible. The dragon would "jump off the page" more if it had deep values set against the light of the paper. =) Please take my critiques as helpful and constructive...as they are intended. You have raw talent. Keep up the great work Ben!

I can see you are paying great attention to details! Keep it up. The texture is well done and the light and shadow as well. Focusing and noticing things in your references makes better art... you are on track

Benjamin... great work... I can tell you are practicing for sure...I agree with you that there are a few "random lines". Make sure to really take your time to make thhngs as neat or "refined" as you are capable of. Nonetheless...you are making some strides with your work. Keep up the inspired art.

This is great! Tip for next time: try to match the size of the pupils and the irises on both eyes. ??

Benjamin, lovely painting and your title of "The Lonely Tree" immediately reminded me of one of the most photographed trees in North America called "Lone Cypress". We visited Pebble Beach/Monterey California when your father was about 11 and I'm sure we have a picture of this tree in one of our photo albums. Look it up on google.
