This design reminds me of the South Pacific Samoan Islander screen printing on fabric--many interconnected elements, harmoniously related. We should use it on our Pysanki Easter eggs !

The variety of the shading and stippling of these lanterns makes them seem so much more interesting than if they had all looked the same. I also enjoy the branch they are displayed on--they look like kinsfolk together.
