I don't know that much about cubism, but I think it involves seeing many sides of objects simultaneously. I like seeing the brown bottom and checkered top of the chess board. I particularly enjoy the detail on the digital numbers on the chess clock and the stop watch: it really captures the hexagonal shapes in the LCDs for those devices. I also enjoy the contours of the chess pieces -- the distinctive mitre on the bishop and the ridges on the king really make them feel real. I'd love to know more about the jeweled crown, as well as whether the red dots connected by lines represent something specific or if they're decoration. I see what you mean (in an earlier conversation we had) about the way square-tipped markers leave distinctive lines of light/dark when you use them to fill in an area, but I think the effect here is interesting: it provides a distinctive texture, like the combed gravel in a zen garden.
