I love it that your art teacher is pushing you to learn the value of using high contrast to make your art "pop"..... :) Combine that with the hint of complementary color in the purple-gray background working with the orange pumpkin, and you have a winning formula! That is half the battle won right out of the starting gate... trust me. Great work!
