Wow Jack, this is a great portrait—is it a self portrait? I think it looks like you—the great hair, the hockey puck and football references and the hot dog. You do symmetry well, the face totally aligns. You should be proud of all you can do in art! Your skill and creative thoughts serve you well. It is a pleasure viewing your work!!!

Wow Jack! This is one great example of radial balance—how fun you incorporated the design with weaving. Your color selection is dramatic, bright and bold. The hues are rich and go together well Also, your line work creates an interesting pattern—good job of incorporating the woven lines and drawn lines—they go together well. You do so well with composition! The angled shapes and lines draw my attention to the smaller orange circle a little above center. It’s like I’m peeking into the garden. Your floral shapes are wonderfully abstract and your color application intense. I’m not sure what the medium is but it’s bright, bold and beautiful! Beautifully composed. The strong vertical lines/shapes and the applied textures create a lot of interest. The landscape you created really stands out in the way you apply color—saving the brightest hue for you smallest piece. Brilliant!!!

Great color combinations—I like how you weave the same hues and shapes throughout the piece. Is the piece both paint and chalk? In the photo on my phone it appears to be mixed media. I’d love to now what the assignment was?

Your piece has great radial symmetry—the circles go round-n-round. I like the controlled brush strokes you use. The paint is applied in a very uniform manner. I also like the colors you picked. It’s obvious you use painting techniques well!

Jack, wow!!! This looks like a batik technique—all the shapes are outlined in black—very batik like. Your color scheme works well too! Purple and black always go well together. Your addition of orange and green really make the colors pop! And while we’re talking about the element of color, let’s look at line, you use line very well. The dynamic green lines and how they bend and twist really look like they’re moving. Lots of action! I continue to be amazed by your art skill. GREAT work. Love, GG

Jack you have accomplished the work of many artists, you recorded history/special events. Your art proudly proclaims, “Happy Halloween!”! A skeleton in a dynamic pose certainly pays homage to this fun day. I also appreciate your paper tearing technique, you do it well. I hope you put this bony portrait on display in your house, I look forward to seeing it up!

Incredible Jack! Your composition juxtaposes organic line with geometric shape. The result is wonderful! The organic lines surround your subject in interesting waves. One could say the lines travel outward from center OR they move into the center. Either way, the technique really draws the viewer’s eye to the word “Jack”! And when we view “Jack” we notice how the lines and angles contrast with the “waves”which makes “Jack” very strong. And speaking of “Jack”, the word is filled with a cool color scheme that is bold and strong—the black outline makes it even stronger than the warm colors surrounding it. Your work is skillful Jack!
